Day 2, we woke up early thanks to jet lag, and decided to head out to the market. Lyon has this beautiful fruit and veggie market every Tuesday-Sunday morning out on the river. It was fun attempting to converse with the vendors. Once we all become more comfortable in French, we'll be able to negotiate prices with them- although, their prices were pretty great!

Since we were over by the river, we decided to do a little wandering around. It was really great being able to walk around the city, especially since most of us confessed that we had been pretty sad and homesick the night before, so it was nice to see everyone getting excited about this beautiful city.

The rest of the day was pretty relaxed as we went shopping for some apartment necessities, got cell phones, and cooked dinner.
Yesterday was so much fun! A bunch of us went out to get our monthly metro passes and ended up spending all afternoon in Lyon (the apartments for the 20 American students is in a small suburb). We walked around and did some window shopping.

Then, we wandered up to the Basilica (click on the link to learn about it) there was a beautiful view of the city, and as we walked down back into the city, the path was filled with rose gardens! It was really nice to spend the day exploring and getting to know each other.

Then we booked tickets for tomorrow's trip to Annecy! We're going out to a welcome dinner this evening, so I'm going to get ready, but I promise I'll post about today this evening :)
